As a Sales Director you will already know that UK schools spend well over £2bn per year on covering short term absences with supply teachers.

The current model is exclusively reliant on agencies that charge commission and are terribly inefficient.

Our client is consolidating this analogue, fragmented, and inefficient marketplace onto a digital platform. Think Uber for supply teachers.

In the process they'll pull hundreds of millions £ of waste out of the education system and have a huge positive impact on teachers and schools. As Sales Director you will play a pivotal role in delivering this exciting new platform to those who will benefit most.

Our client is well-funded by high-profile investors, have had significant early traction, and are led by start-up veterans behind two of London's most prominent tech companies.

As Sales Director you will be responsible for leading all school acquisition and retention efforts. You’ll lead a team of account executives, identify and implement scalable processes, and consistently work on projects to attract new schools and ensure they receive a positive user experience.

Role and responsibilities

As the Sales Director you will:
• Own team targets through leading retention, expansion and new business activities.
• Motivate and manage a team of Account Executives to continuously increase bookings at schools.
• Coach team to continuously improve team effectiveness and personal sales skills.
• Lead school leaders through successful recruitment processes using a consultative approach.
• Own the relationship with strategic customers including school leaders and leadership teams of MultiAcademy Trusts.
• Work collaboratively with the resourcing, operations and technology teams to continuously improve efficiency in delivering value to schools.
• Get your hands dirty. Like any true start-up, no two weeks will be the same and a general interest in ‘mucking in’ and just getting the job done is crucial.

Skill set

Our client's ideal Sales Director candidate will have:
• 5+ years experience in sales
• Experience leading teams
• Experience, strong knowledge, and/or interest in the UK education sector is a strong plus
• Interest in technology, marketplaces, and/or social impact.
