Whilst the CRO leads on various global partnership opportunities and strategic relationships, the Sales Operations Director will have line management responsibility for all sales personnel and be responsible for driving the sales function to achieve its revenue growth objectives.

This will take the form of:
• Directly managing multiple Business Development Directors responsible for global framework, strategic deals
• Building a team of Business Development Managers that will be focused on Enterprise deals initially in the UK and Europe but with the objective to grow the team and expand into other territories over time
• Trialling a small team of Business Development Executives who will target the smaller Enterprise deals that can be closed without the need for face to face meetings and bespoke solutions.

The successful Sales Operations Director candidate:
• Must bring a strong sales discipline to the existing and new teams
• Drive a consistent Sales Methodology and robust deal management process, that underpin a robust forecast and ensure they hit aggressive sales targets.
• Manage a team of around 12 FTE (expected to expand substantially), ensuring each hit their targets, undertake the required activity, holding performance management reviews and recruiting new or replacement salespeople as required.
• Hold weekly pipeline reviews with all sales personnel to ensure individually and collectively sales are on track to achieve their monthly forecast.
• Question the status quo and striving for operational excellence including the continued improvement of the Sales Automation / CRM platform (Salesforce.com).
• Provide analysis and insight to the sales leadership / Senior Management Team on sales performance and optimisation.
• Work with other functions including Marketing, Product and HR to provide the necessary sales enablement tools and training for a high-performance sales function.

The Company is expanding and evolving rapidly and they expect the responsibilities of this role to do so too.

Role and responsibilities

The Sales Operations Director will:
• Be responsible for sales productivity reporting and forecasting, review of performance against various key business drivers/metrics and is accountable to provide an accurate forecast of monthly/quarterly additional revenue to the business
• Ensure effective CRM hygiene is undertaken by the whole sales team
• Facilitate change management in the sales process as required
• Ensure account plans are in place and maintained for all strategic accounts
• To work collaboratively with marketing on demand generation campaigns and product on proposition development
• Manage delivery of the necessary sales enablement tools and training
• Direct the development and implementation of processes, tools and technology that will support and improve the operations of the Sales function
• Have input into Go-To-Market planning including the deployment of targets and quotas for all sales personnel
• Work with sales leadership / Senior Management Team on Sales Planning including sales structure and optimum use of resources to achieve our revenue growth and retention objectives
• Have input into the design and management of sales compensation.

Skill set

To be in with the chance of being shortlisted for the role of Sales Operations Director, you will have:

• Proven management and leadership skills required; with direct experience of managing sales people of varied levels to achieve sales targets in a tech / marketing services company
• Run sizable teams potentially in a call centre or support function with experience of implementing or running a structured sales process, motivating individuals and running team incentives
• Managed weekly pipeline review with all sales personnel to ensure monthly forecasts are achieved
• Extensive CRM experience & knowledge, preferable on Salesforce.com Sales Cloud
• Sales compensation design and management
• Solid business acumen / commercial awareness
• Strong communication skills, both interpersonally and written, especially in presenting at senior levels within the organization
• Need to be able to recruit, lead, coach and performance manage sales personnel across varied levels of experience and across multiple countries.

• Technically capable, excellent communicator with a desire to improve processes
• Calm, composed and considered even under pressure
• Ability to influence and lead change
• Able to manage multiple stakeholder and influence and persuade upwards, downwards and across the organisation
• European or other languages advantageous
