One of the largest publishers in the UK are looking for an innovative, driven and sales focused individual to work as a Syndication Sales Executive. You will be working within the Syndication and Licensing team, selling content from various titles through to agencies and direct publishers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for sales of various forms of content including pictures, text, audio, video and some trademark licensing. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of our titles, their content and the international media landscape.

One of the largest publishers in the UK are looking for an innovative, driven and sales focused individual to work as a Syndication Sales Executive. You will be working within the Syndication and Licensing team, selling content from various titles through to agencies and direct publishers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for sales of various forms of content including pictures, text, audio, video and some trademark licensing. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of our titles, their content and the international media landscape.

Role and responsibilities

Your responsibilities as the Syndication Sales Executive will include:
• Drive monthly sales to achieve/exceed personal targets and in support of the overall revenue targets. Ensure you are aware of the value of each sale by having a good understanding of our royalty commitments and any cost of sale.
• The Syndication Sales Executive will be able to build strong relationships with clients through regular phone calls and face to face meetings
• Cold call where appropriate to develop business opportunities. This process includes new and existing clients with new products.
• Ensure all customer inquiries/opportunities are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
• You will develop creative new ‘content packages’/services for sale
• Develop a good working knowledge of syndication contracts, including agent agreements, and any exclusivity offered which needs to be observed
• Develop strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders e.g. Contributors, Editorial departments, etc.
• Managing your CRM records effectively.
• Clear rights with contributors where the rights status is unclear or they are not yet signed up to syndicate
• Liaise with Editorial departments to establish content rights and clearance.
• Determine annual sales strategy for your sector and input to overall department sales strategy.
• Work with the accounts and credit control teams to minimise bad debt.
• The Syndication Sales Executive will be providing cover across the team as required.
• This role will be working across the EMEA region.
• Be available to work a weekend shift and Bank Holidays on a rota basis.

Skill set

The Syndication Sales Executive will have proven experience in;
• Prospecting, negotiation and closing skills.
• Excellent understanding of the sales cycle, including personal and departmental performance against targets.
• Strong understanding of copyright and content licensing.
• Good understanding of best practice and opportunities across the industry.
• Good understanding of Salesforce CRM software.
• Ability to use SAP accounting system.
• Read trade press, quality press and relevant information to maintain up to date knowledge for the media and syndication marketplace.
• Experience of working in a sales focused environment with the ability to deliver excellent customer service.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
• Demonstrate the ability to self-motivate and show resourcefulness.
• Ability to work and make decisions at speed to ensure customer deadlines are achieved.
• Demonstrate strong team working skills, including supporting the department and colleagues by selling across sectors.
