A global cloud-based, content delivery network company are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join their Technology Excellence team in deploying, operating, and troubleshooting content delivery products and services on a global scale.

The Successful Technical Support Engineer will have solid experience with network application configuration, operation, and hands-on troubleshooting and communication skills, with the desire to employ these in a fast-paced, dynamic, 24/7 enterprise environment resulting in a world-class customer experience.

Our client helps companies save money while increasing the performance of their web sites and web-based applications and as the Technical Support Engineer, you will play a key role in the initial role out of their products.

Technical Support Engineer

A global cloud-based, content delivery network company are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join their Operations team in deploying, operating, and troubleshooting content delivery products and services on a global scale. As Technical Support Engineer, most likely have a working knowledge of Linux and Apache applications. You will know how HTTP and DNS works.

As Technical Support Engineer, you will be open for a challenge and be eager to learn new technologies and concepts. You will have direct involvement in helping to build the next gen platform so you will be naturally inquisitive and open to expanding your knowledge. You will be part of a team so team ethos will be key.

Role and responsibilities

As the Technical Support Engineer your responsibilities will include:

• Help developing process and tools to launch new services and improve existing ones
• Provide excellent responsiveness and support
• Perform scripting as needed to improve productivity and troubleshooting tools
• Wow our customers with superior support and issue handling
• Day-to-day configuration and deployment of applications for a content delivery service to meet customer requirement

Skill set

Required skills and experience for the successful Technical Support Engineer:

• 3 - 5 years of experience in technical service or support
• Working understanding of software application procedures (particularly SaaS)
• Working understanding of computer networks
• Motivated self-starter who can work well with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Knowledge of scripting (shell, Python, Perl, etc.)
• Web Applications Apache
• Strong technical skills/knowledge spanning enterprise infrastructure, enterprise software, and Internet protocols
• Good understanding of DNS and how it works
• Software package installation experience
• Familiarity with XML-based configurations
• Working experience with Linux (centOS)
• Working knowledge of networking concepts
